Dean Kramer


Dean has been a piano tuner and technician since 1974. He tunes on the road full-time, manages the piano store, and does piano appraisals and estimates as well. He is an associate of the Piano Technicians Guild, and stays updated at their State and National Conventions.  Dean is also a member of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), which he attends annually, taking many seminars. Dean took several years of piano lessons, and trumpet lessons and sang in a gospel quartet called the “Lighthouse Singers” for approximately thirteen years, during which time the group recorded nine albums. He and his wife, Lois, have three grown daughters.

Lois Kramer

Shop Worker

Lois married into the business in 1977. During her 35 years here, she has worked on pianos, sold pianos, managed the office, remodeled our store, and has worn many other “hats.” She is currently in charge of our “Gift Boutique”, and works on pianos in our workshop. Lois sang in a gospel singing group for about ten years, and also plays the piano for her own enjoyment. She is married to Dean Kramer, and they have three daughters, two of which are piano teachers. Lois’ favorite pastimes are scrapbooking, sewing, and enjoying her two grandsons.

Michael Hill

Store Manager

Michael is our store manager and makes it his goal to help you find everything you need to be successful in your musical journey – from selecting the right instrument to getting the accessories and services to help you advance in your skills and keep your instrument in top working condition!

He came to Kramer’s Piano Shop with 7 years of experience in music retail stores offering sales, rentals, lessons, and repairs. Michael has played piano for most of his life, plays cello in the Frederick Symphony Orchestra, and has enjoyed picking up a variety of other instruments along the way. He is also a church music director in Frederick. Whether you are a professional musician or brand new beginner, stop by KPS and Michael will help you with all your piano, guitar, and ukulele needs!

Jeannette McCuller


Jeannette has been employed here since 1994, having worked in many different areas here over the years.  She currently handles our accounting and financial departments, is one of our sales associates, and also oversees our extensive music book selection.  She is known for her pleasant voice on the phone, her cats, and her superior memory.

Kennady Thorpe

Sales Associate/Office Assistant

Kennady has been working for Kramer’s since 2017. She has been playing guitar and ukulele for over 9 years and has been singing since she was 6 years old. She studied music, voice and choir conducting at Mount St. Mary’s University. She loves her cats, crocheting, Halloween and shopping.


Office Assistant

Evelyn loves all things music and plays violin, cello, and guitar. She has more than 5 years of experience in music programs at her school and loves working at Kramer’s! She also loves playing volleyball and playing with her dog!

Marshall Keith

Piano Tuner

Marshall has tuned pianos full-time at K.P.S. since 1994,and is well-liked by our customers. He is a very good tuner/technician, is an associate of the Piano Technicians Guild, and attends conventions for updates. Marshall is also a professional musician. He plays guitar, keyboard, and sings. He was a founding member of “The Slickee Boys,” a band that toured Europe and the U.S. for many years. He writes and records his own music, does solo gigs, and occasionally collaborates with other musician.

Ford Lloyd

Shop Technician/Woodworker

Ford has been with our company since June 2018 and mainly does woodwork for us here at the shop. He has been doing woodwork for the past 44 years, from construction, to making furniture and doing repair work. In his free time he enjoys gardening with his wife and visiting with his son.

Bill Cave

Piano Technician

Bill has done a little bit of everything when it comes to Kramer’s. Bill has been with Kramers for a couple of months and really enjoys his work. Previously Bill was a firefighter and a boat builder! Now he is taking up at the shop fixing things from the trucks all the way to fixing the pianos in the basement. When he isn’t at work Bill enjoys riding his motorcycle and building things. He also has his pilot license and enjoys taking piano lessons with his wife here at Kramer’s.

Don McCuller, Jr.

Piano Technician

Don had been employed here from 1995-1998, and from 2006 until the present. He manages the piano workshop and rebuilds pianos for us. He is an accomplished guitarist and teaches guitar lessons here at Kramer’s.
